Why we started Inyeon: showing up for local businesses

Our immigrant roots shaped Inyeon: hands-on technology help for local NYC businesses, built on trust, in-person collaboration, and showing up.

We started Inyeon with a simple idea: taking care of a business starts with taking care of the people behind it.

The work ethic we grew up with

We’re children of immigrant parents. Growing up, we learned to work hard, figure things out, and lend a hand when someone needed one. We learned that caring about something means being willing to get your hands dirty.

That’s the spirit we want to bring to Inyeon.

Running a business takes a lot of you. You’re looking after customers, managing the day-to-day, and making decisions that affect your livelihood. Somewhere in the middle of all that, you’re also expected to understand websites, online ordering, booking systems, and whatever new technology everyone says you need.

It can be hard to know where to start, or who to trust with it.

Someone you feel comfortable asking

We want to be the people you feel comfortable turning to. A little like the tech-savvy kids in the family: someone you can ask, “Can you take a look at this?” without feeling like you should already know the answer.

You should be able to explain what’s happening in your own words. Our job is to listen, ask good questions, and help you work through it.

Being local to New York City matters to us because it lets us do that together, in person. We can sit beside you, see how your business works, and understand the small frustrations that might never come up in an email. Sometimes a conversation across the counter tells us more than a long list of requirements ever could.

Showing up at Chicken Lovers

Our work with Chicken Lovers in Queens has helped make that vision real. We’ve been coming in every day, spending time with the team and helping with the technology questions and needs that come up along the way.

Those everyday interactions mean a lot to us. They give us a chance to learn how the business runs, understand what matters to the people working there, and become familiar faces they feel comfortable asking for help.

That’s how we want to build relationships: through time, attention, and follow-through.

The kind of company we want to build

We want to earn the kind of trust where you can tell us when something is confusing, when an idea doesn’t fit your business, or when you need a little more help getting comfortable with a new tool. And we owe you that same openness: clear explanations, honest advice, and commitments we can keep.

When we say we want a connection that feels like family, we mean the care behind it. Remembering what matters to you. Being patient with questions. Taking your business seriously because we understand how much of yourself you’ve put into it.

We’re building Inyeon around that kind of care.

We bring the technical skills. You bring the knowledge of your business. Together, we can make things work better, one conversation and one problem at a time.

And it starts with showing up.
