Everything here is made by someone we know.

The case for owned

Renting a storefront on someone else’s app is the most expensive cheap decision a small brand makes.

Keep your margin

No 15–30% marketplace take, no per-app subscriptions stacked three deep. The price on the tag is the price you actually keep.

Keep your customer

Your buyer list, their emails, their reorder habits — yours. No platform sits between you and the person who loves your jam.

Keep your story

One owned storefront you control end to end — the look, the words, the checkout. Not a template you rent until rent goes up.

0%taken by a marketplace. The number we are proudest of.

Our story

It started as a folding table of jam.

In 2022, Mira and Theo Okafor set up a folding table outside their Ridgewood apartment with six jars of smoked pepper jam and a hand-lettered sign. By autumn there was a waitlist; by spring there was a lease on Forest Avenue.

We could have sold through a marketplace and handed over a third of every sale plus the names of everyone who bought. Instead we built one owned storefront and stocked it with the people we share a kiln, a loom, and a stove with — every maker within a mile.

Do you still have the Ridge Wool Throw? Hoping to grab one tonight.
We do — two left on the shelf. I can hold one under your name for pickup. Would you like the rust-stripe or the plain?
Rust stripe. Can I get it before you close?
Reserved. It is wrapped and waiting at the counter — pickup any time before 7pm tonight on Forest Ave. I will text you a reminder at 5.
