Warm wood counter, tiled wall, baskets of bread, neighbors chatting

A corner of Queens that smells like Saturday.

We started with a market stall, a borrowed oven and a stubborn belief that bread should take its time. Eight years on, we’re still on Skillman Ave, still milling our own grain, still learning the dough every single day.

2016
Started as a Saturday market stall with one borrowed deck oven.

★★★★★
The country sourdough ruined supermarket bread for me. Crackly crust, custardy inside. I pre-order two loaves every Friday now.

It smells like a hug. The cardamom buns sell out by 9, so set an alarm. Worth every minute of the walk.
